Markets show up in three places. The Markets hub at /markets lists every live and upcoming slate. Every round lobby renders a MarketsRoundPromo block. The empty state ships with a SlateDemo so you can poke at a sample slate before you ever pick.
A slate is one pre-round market with N legs (one per hole or one per player). Each leg is a simple yes/no question. Questions are handicap-calibrated: low caps see birdie-or-better, mid caps see par-or-better, high caps see bogey-or-better. Locks at scheduled tee time.
Heads up: Slate locks at scheduled tee time. Pick before then or you sit it out.
Tap a leg to place a pick. Tap Fade on any pick (yours or a friend's) to instantly take the opposite side at the same stake. Tap Copy on a friend's pick to mirror it in one tap.
XP is the currency. Streaks pay bonuses: 3 in a row = +25, 5 = +75, 10 = +250, 20 = +1000 (capped weekly). Net XP rolls up into tier badges (caddie, marshal, pro, tour) that surface across the app.
On any trip, the Calcutta surfaces a sealed-bid auction on the trip's participants. Top 3 finishers' winning bidders share the pool 70/20/10. Bids are sealed - bidders see only their own.
Heads up: Calcutta closes when the trip starts. No late bids.
