How does settlement work?
Pots are tracked in cfUSD play money (no cash value today) from tee-off. When the scorecard closes, the pot is split by format rules and settled to winners. Real cash between friends stays off-platform via Venmo or manual settlement. No spreadsheets, no IOUs, no chasing who forgot to pay.
What payment methods are supported?
cfUSD escrow (play money on the Base Sepolia test network, no cash value) or off-platform Venmo/manual settlement between friends. Free rounds are always available.
Does caddie.fun charge a platform fee?
Only on cfUSD escrow rounds - a network-aware fee is deducted from the pot before payouts, and the Payout Preview shows the exact amount before anyone joins. Venmo and manual rounds have no platform fee: the full pot splits between players and friends square up off-platform.
What about handicaps?
Full handicap support with teebox-specific NET scoring. Different teeboxes can have different pars, and the system accounts for this automatically.
Are there any limits?
Caps are enforced: 10 cfUSD max entry, 5 cfUSD max per side bet, and 5 cfUSD total side bet exposure per round. cfUSD is test-only play money with no cash value. Stakes are friend-only - you cannot play with strangers.
What if the group disputes a result?
Every settlement has a 48-hour dispute window before it finalizes. Scores and payout math are visible to the whole group, so the argument ends before it starts.
Can I add stakes to Team Battles?
Yes. Team Battles support entry fees and side stakes just like individual rounds. Entry fees go into a team prize pool and are distributed to the winning team. All standard caps apply.
Is this a sportsbook?
No. Stakes are friend-only money games among people you invite - not bets against a house. There is no vig on Venmo/manual rounds. Early-access escrow uses cfUSD play money with no cash value.
How is this different from Venmo after the round?
Venmo moves cash after someone does the math. caddie.fun tracks the format rules hole by hole, shows a payout preview before you tee off, and settles the pot when the card closes so nobody argues about carryovers or presses.
