How cfUSD play money works: topping up, escrow, payouts, settling with friends, and what happens when something goes wrong.
Wallet
Balance
cfUSD is play money with no cash value. It keeps one honest, instant ledger of who won - no bank details, no IOUs, and nothing to chase after the round.
Open Wallet, then Get cfUSD. Topping up is free - no cards, no bank details - and your balance appears immediately.
When you join a paid round or tournament, your entry moves from your wallet into a round-specific escrow. It is locked until the round/tournament settles - you cannot withdraw escrowed funds.
When a round or tournament finalizes, payouts settle instantly. Winners see funds appear in their wallet within seconds. Losers see the loss already reflected.
cfUSD cannot be withdrawn or cashed out. When your group plays for real money, the app tracks who owes whom and deep-links the Venmo payment - money moves directly between friends, never through caddie.fun.
Heads up: Only confirm a Venmo settlement once the money is actually in your Venmo. caddie.fun cannot verify Venmo payments.
Within 48 hours of a round settling, any participant can raise a dispute. The round goes into review and payouts hold until it resolves.
FAQ
cfUSD is free play money - there is nothing to deposit or withdraw. Platform fees depend on the settlement rail: cfUSD escrow rounds include a platform fee (shown in the Payout Preview before you join). Venmo and manual rounds have no platform fee - the full pot splits between players and money moves directly between friends off-platform.
Your wallet is tied to your account, not the device. Sign in on a new device and your balance is intact. If you also forgot your password, contact support.
cfUSD is play money with no cash value, so there is nothing to insure. Real-money settlements between friends happen on Venmo, outside the app.
Not directly today. The wallet is round, tournament, and season scoped.
