Common Questions
Gross scoring is your actual score with no adjustments. Net scoring subtracts handicap strokes from your gross score so players of different abilities can compete fairly.
Stableford is great for beginners because a bad hole only costs you zero points rather than blowing up your total score. It keeps the round fun even when you have a rough patch.
Most penalties add one or two strokes to your score. Out of bounds and lost balls carry a stroke-and-distance penalty (replay from the previous spot plus one penalty stroke). Water hazards and unplayable lies are one stroke with a drop.
