Questions
Yes. The GPS rangefinder is free for all caddie.fun users with no usage limits. No hidden fees, no premium tier required for distance tracking.
Accuracy depends on your phone's GPS hardware. Most modern smartphones are accurate to 3-5 yards, which is comparable to dedicated GPS rangefinder watches.
The rangefinder works at any golf course. Distance accuracy depends on available mapping data. We are continuously expanding our course mapping database.
GPS tracking does use more battery than normal. We optimize updates to minimize impact. For an 18-hole round, expect 15-20% additional battery usage.
Check your tournament's local rules. Most amateur events allow GPS distance-measuring devices. The USGA permits distance-only devices by default under Model Local Rule G-5.
Tap once at your ball, hit your shot, walk to your ball, and tap again. The app measures the GPS distance between the two points to show how far you hit that club.
During a live round, plays-like distance can factor elevation and available weather data via ShotDistanceAdjustmentService. Adjustments depend on course mapping and live round context - not every surface has wind data on every hole.
